Frances Jade Buddha for Universal Peace

Saturday evening (after the workshop had finished), we took a visit to the Phap Hoa Pagoda Temple where the Jade Buddha for Universal Peace was on display. This buddha statue is the largest carved from gemstone quality jade in the world. The Jade Buddha is 2.7 metres high and sits on an alabaster throne of 1.4 high. The Jade Buddha itself weighs around 4 tonne and has been valued at $5 million. Its size and beauty make it a wonder of the world. The Buddha inside the Mahabodhi Stupa in Bodh Gaya… Continue

Jack Delatorre A bit of Shelling [1800] to get the mind working

§ 1. Concept of Transcendental Philosophy 1. All knowledge is founded upon the coincidence of an objective with a subjective. - For we know only what is true; but truth is generally taken to consist in the coincidence of presentations with their objects. 2. The intrinsic notion of everything merely objective in our knowledge, we may speak of as nature. The notion of everything subjective is called, on the contrary, the self, or the intelligence. The two concepts are mutually opposed. The intelli… Continue

Frances Spring Equinox observance - a wee report on what we did

Greetings All Last night the Temple of the Dark Moon observed this time of balance with many students from the current Study Circle in attendance. The ritual commenced with everyone being anointed and the standard set up in turning the temple in to a sacred space. The Maiden of the Awakening Spring and the Lord of the Pulsating Heartbeat were invoked before we were reminded that as with a physical garden, the seeds of hopes and inspirations we have sown over Mid Winter and Imbolc need tending… Continue

Jack Delatorre A hymn to the goddess

“ Thou who at moon of night doth reign, Queen of the starry realm above, Not unto Thee may we attain Unless Thine Image be of Love.’ By moon‐rays silver shaft of power, By green leaf breaking from the bud, By seed that springeth into flower, By life that courseth in the blood. By rushing wind and leaping flame, By flowing water and green earth, Pour us the wine of our desire From out Thy Cauldron of Rebirth. Here may we see in vision clear The Secret Strange unveiled at length, The wondrous Twin… Continue

Jack Delatorre The Hymns of Orpheus

The FUMIGATION from AROMATICS. THEE I invoke, blest pow'r of dreams divine, Angel of future fates, swift wings are thine: Great source of oracles to human kind, When stealing soft, and whisp'ring to the mind, Thro' sleep's sweet silence and the gloom of night, 5 Thy pow'r awakes th' intellectual fight; To silent souls the will of heav'n relates, And silently reveals their future fates. For ever friendly to the upright mind Sacred and pure, to holy rites inclin'd; 10 p. 224 For these with pleas… Continue

Jack Delatorre This is just one of those test that are online interesting but not important

How Old Is Your Soul? Your Result: Old Souls The weirdos and saints among us; the mystics, gardeners, and winemakers. Not too interested in rocking the boat or being famous (and they usually aren't, especially in the later stages.) Psychotics and schizophrenics (the other set of people who hear voices) are usually Mature Souls. Most of the famous New Age guru types are also not in this category; rather they are usually Late Young or Early Mature Souls who are still interested in the world drama… Continue

Jack Delatorre This is a 18th centuary traslation of Platos sonats [Hymns to the gods]

HYMN OF CLEANTHES. Greatest of the gods, God with many names, God ever-ruling, and ruling all things! Zeus, origin of Nature, governing the universe by law, All hail! For it is right for mortals to address thee; For we are thy offspring, and we alone of all That live and creep on earth have the power of imitative speech. Therefore will I praise thee, and hymn forever thy power. Thee the wide heaven, which surrounds the earth, obeys: Following where thou wilt, willingly obeying thy law. Thou hold… Continue

Frances Words of Power

WORDS OF POWER: All words are “words of power” because it is through our language that we communicate our ideas and our desires, but some words do have more power over us than others. For example the word “mother” contains emotions and connotations that can take weeks/months to express in any other way, with each person having a different connotation. Words are packets of information, ideas encapsulated. A magick work can be likened to a formular, a mathematical equation, or scientific formular.… Continue

A bit of Poety

Child of the mighty dead,
Electra, lo, my way
To thee in the dawn hath sped,
And the cot on the mountain grey,
For the Watcher hath cried this day:
He of the ancient folk,
The walker of waste and hill,
Who drinketh the milk of the flock;
And he told of Hera's will;
For the morrow's morrow now
They cry her festival,
And before her throne shall bow
Our damsels all.
