Paganism Australia

Okay, you may think that I'm completely nuts - and you'd be right, I got the papers to prove it...VBG!

A commune! Yep, a commune. I want to start or become involved in a pagan commune where we share resources and skills. Where we cook and garden together, where each of us is respected for who we are, not what others think we should be.

Read my blog for more information and what bought this on.

Oh, if you know of any REPUTABLE ones, please let me know.
Blessed Be
Johoanna

lol i wanted to do the same a while ago but when u think about it there is allot of conflict and as much as i still love the idea having a family doesn't always work (pushing your lifestyle on them they can rebel) so a self sustained living is my goal at the moment for when i move to a healty area BB)O(

You could all move to Aotearoa and join my family and i on our half an acre. We could build yurts and other alternative housing.

We're in Little River which is approx 35k east of Christchurch on the Akaroa Highway (about halfway to Akaroa). The whole area is better known as Banks Penninsula.

If my school Maori, is correct, "Aotearoa" actually relates to the North Island only - meaning "the land of the long white cloud". The South Island is known as "Te Wai Pounamu" (or the waters of greenstone) or "Te Wāhi Pounamu" (the place of greenstone) .

It has only been recently that Aotearoa has been used represent NZ as a whole.

Cool i didnt know that Aotearoa was New Zealand =) Thanks for telling me!

It is correct that the north and south island have two different names. So, technically I live on Te Wahi Pounama. The country as a whole has begun to refer to itself, as a whole, as Aotearoa New Zealand. Thus Aotearoa can, and does often, refer to both islands. Drop me a line to let me know your coming to join the commune. Bring your own yurt making material. We'll put you up in the lounge while the yurt is being built ;)

Bealtaine Magickal Retreat

A selection of photos are in the process of being uploaded into the Temple's photo album of the retreat we held over the weekend, just prior to the commencement of the fire ban so we were able to have our bale fire.

http://picasaweb.google.com/TempleDarkMoon/Bealtaine2009# is the link.

Enjoy.

Some thing to think on

ALCIBIADES II
PERSONS OF THE DIALOGUE: Socrates and Alcibiades.

SOCRATES: Are you going, Alcibiades, to offer prayer to Zeus?

ALCIBIADES: Yes, Socrates, I am.

SOCRATES: you seem to be troubled and to cast your eyes on the ground, as though you were thinking about something.

ALCIBIADES: Of what do you suppose that I am thinking?

SOCRATES: Of the greatest of all things, as I believe. Tell me, do you not suppose that the Gods sometimes partly grant and partly reject the requests which we make… Continue

Orionid meteor shower

Just a note it will peck by about dawn the 21st Oct I think thats GMT ?? but its the next 2/3 nights what ever
These meteors began life as tiny specks of dust ejected by Comet 1P/Halley during its innumerable trips around the Sun. Over the eons, these particles spread out along the comet's orbit. Every October, we run into this stream of dust.
if you are any place to see its a good show

A bit of Poety

Child of the mighty dead,
Electra, lo, my way
To thee in the dawn hath sped,
And the cot on the mountain grey,
For the Watcher hath cried this day:
He of the ancient folk,
The walker of waste and hill,
Who drinketh the milk of the flock;
And he told of Hera's will;
For the morrow's morrow now
They cry her festival,
And before her throne shall bow
Our damsels all.
