Paganism Australia

Just wondering if people would be interested in discussing their thoughts, ideas on death etc. A friend forwarded something from her mother about the afterlife that to me sounded rather new age ... but this got me thinking - what is the Pagan concept of death? Is there such a thing? Is there a Pagan equivalent to the Catholic "last rites" - or has anyone been in a situation when they have been asked to provide such words of comfort?

My own perception is based on my metaphysical background of the soul's transition - does anyone adapt other spiritual practices - ie the Buddhist bardo states etc??

i forgot to say i do know our bodies may be dead but our spirit lives on and can attach to others or reborn but there is a posibility some may not exist after death or go to another place

One must reach a spiritual level that allows them to see the physical ending of their organic vessel as a natural course of events to renewal their spirit self in another form. When this level of spiritual achievement is reached, one's spirit can let the body do what it naturally does at its end of use without being effected by it. This is the last lesson a human being learns prior to spiritual renewal & transformation. They must let go their physical assets by understanding there is not value in the human biological form on death. If they do not reach this level, the physical death will injure their spirit, pulling it down, so when starting its new life, the spirit will be in effect, behind the eight ball. These are my ways in brief, on physical death & spiritual renewal.

An Update of the Cat

I've managed to have a good look at BJ and the rubber band issue. It really does need to come off. He's a wriggler so I'm going to wrap him in my quilt and hold him down while I take it off. It's not done any damage that I can see.

I keep telling my housemate that it is classed as cruelty to animals and last night I told him I would be phoning the RSPCA first thing in the morning and reporting him (I had no response to lodging the complaint through their website). He proceeded to tell me that i… Continue

I hate people who are cruel to animals

My housemate has just tried to desex his male cat himself by typing a rubber band around it's balls. As far as I'm concerned that's not on so I went to the RSPCA website and reported him. I told him I would and he didn't believe me. He's now trying to get the cat out from under the house.

I got so upset when he did it. I think I get more upset when I see people cruel to animals than I do when people are cruel to each other. It's something that I really really hate and am passionate about stoppi… Continue

Yep, finally decided to do it...

Change my name that is. (I bet you were thinking something rude...lol).

I've been thinking about changing my name for most of the year. My name does not represent who I am now. My name was given to my by my Mother. My Mother and I are currently astranged, although I'm hoping that will change in years to come.

I've decided on two names. One will be my witchy name, that I use on the forums and any writing, pagan crafts, etc, I do. The other will be my new legal name. Both names will be connected… Continue

Popping my blogging cherry...

So, i'm completely newb-ish at the art of blogging. I had a live journal once, a long, long time ago (back when life had me in fits of laughter at every turn, and therefore worthy of publicising =/)... but lately i've been yearning for an outlet. Life's not throwing me so much comedy anymore; but i guess my small tragedies are equally worthy of public viewing... even if it's to have someone else to laugh at them.

Okay. So i've moved town; was in Melbourne, now in Bendigo. It's a nice place, as… Continue

Just a short verse that I wrote a few years ago

The Journey of the soul

A spark, a twinkle of light shines through the mists that travel across the waters of this land. The light has a purpose, to find a vessel in which to live.

As I travel, I have an idea in mind of what I want to experience in this lifetime, it is joy and sorrow, love and hate, beauty and ugliness. What is the best vessel in which to carry out this task?

I have traveled a time as a bird; during this time I flew high above the earth on the breath of the wind, in the calmn… Continue
